Why I Created the

Better Not

Bitter Journal

I created the Better Not Bitter self-love journal because I believe in the power of transforming pain into empowerment. Life has the ability to make us bitter, but we have the ability to choose to become better.

This journal is a tool

to help you make that

choice every day

—to choose resilience,

growth, and self-love,

no matter the circumstances.

A Tribute to

My Aunt Saba:

This journal is deeply

personal to me. It’s a tribute to my beautiful and vibrant Aunt Saba,

who tragically lost her life to suicide in 2012. Her story is a reminder of the importance of prioritizing mental health, self-care, and inner healing. I watched her journey as she slowly abandoned her own well-being, pouring everything into her family and business until she was no longer pouring into herself.

After separating from her husband, the light inside her faded, and eventually, she lost herself. By the time we realized how much she was suffering, it was too late.

Her story taught me that neglecting

mental health can happen to anyone, no matter

how strong or successful they may seem.

My Aunt Saba, once full of life and joy, slipped away silently before our eyes. This journal is my way of honoring her memory and making sure that her story helps others choose to care for themselves before it’s too late.

Why This Work

Matters:

The Better Not Bitter journal is

more than just a tool—it’s a daily reminder of the importance of

self-care. It’s designed to help

you affirm yourself, reflect on

your life, and take action toward

the life you truly want to lead.

Growing up, my mother

always told me,

Take care of

yourself first.

That simple piece of advice has shaped me into the woman I am today and fuels my passion for helping other women do the same.

As a wellness expert, I see too many women neglecting themselves while trying to balance the roles of mother, businesswoman, wife, friend, and more. But we can’t pour from an empty cup. We must first fill ourselves up—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—before we can serve others.

The Better Not Bitter journal is about making the conscious decision to nourish yourself daily, so you can live the life you’re meant to lead, full of strength, resilience, and joy.

Please note that 10% profit of every book sale goes to Saba’s Hope Foundation. A nonprofit organization dedicated to women’s mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
